alexa's DIY koushi lamp looks so delicate.  she wrote a piece in remodelista in which she shows us how she made her version of mark eden schooley's lamp.  first photo taken via artilleriet, second photo via alexa. post found via michelle chamlee.

many of them

i received volume II of many of them magazine (2012) yesterday. it's full of beautiful and soft images, interviews, poetry, and more. a lot of the pictures and writings are memorable, and while paging through i was drawn to the eatable of many orders interview. composed of a husband (koji arai) and wife team, yoko osawa arai explains the ideas she keeps in mind during the designing process:

"I get inspired by primitive people, by how they lived and made things, while my husband thinks deeper about the concept all the time.  . . . For us, simplicity becomes very important. Our inspiration comes from the earth, its colors and shapes... Nature, that's our key [p.242]".
